Terms of Service
Last updated: 7/3/2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Owambeflow (the "Service"). By creating an account, joining an event, or contributing to an event, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Owambeflow. By signing up you confirm you meet this requirement. Date of birth, once set, cannot be changed.
2. Accounts and security
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. We send sign-in notifications by email; review them and contact us if you see activity you do not recognize. Two-factor authentication is available and recommended.
3. Events and roles
Event owners create and manage events, set up items, prices and delivery addresses for orders, and configure features such as event chat, community guidelines, and E-Spray contributions. Guests RSVP, place orders for items, send messages in chat, and may contribute via E-Spray when enabled.
4. Orders, delivery addresses and confirmation
When you place an order (or an owner places an order on your behalf), a delivery address is required. The address is shared with the event owner so they can fulfil the item. Don't enter addresses you are not authorised to share. Owners may update the address with the guest's agreement. When an owner marks an order as fulfilled, the order enters an "Awaiting guest confirmation" state; the guest can then confirm receipt in-app, which changes the status to "Delivery confirmed by guest" and notifies the owner by email. Delivery/collection logistics are between the owner and the guest — Owambeflow only records the confirmation and notifies the parties.
5. E-Spray contributions
- E-Spray lets guests contribute money to an event when the owner has enabled the feature. Sprays are allowed for events that are published and not cancelled, archived, or draft. Sprays remain available after the event date so guests can settle their contributions.
- You can choose to contribute anonymously. Anonymous mode hides your identity from the event owner, other guests, and the chat. We still retain the underlying record internally for compliance, audit, and dispute resolution.
- Owambeflow is not a money transmitter. Contributions are recorded on the platform; settlement between the contributor and the event owner is the responsibility of the parties. Refund and dispute requests must be raised with the event owner first.
6. Event chat and community guidelines
Event chat is owner-controlled and can be enabled or disabled at any time. By joining a chat you agree that harassment, abuse, hate speech, discrimination, threats, sexual content involving minors, and unlawful content are prohibited and may result in removal, deletion of messages, deletion of your account, and reporting to authorities. Messages are encrypted in transit (TLS) but are not end-to-end encrypted; the host and Owambeflow can view chat content for moderation and legal compliance.
7. Reviews
Only joined guests of an event that has started can leave a review. Reviews must be honest and not contain harassment, threats, or personal data of others. We may remove reviews that violate these Terms or applicable law.
8. Email notifications
We send transactional emails (sign-in alerts, invites, RSVP confirmations, order receipts, spray receipts and owner notifications, event time changes). You can unsubscribe from non-critical emails using the link in any email footer; critical security and compliance emails cannot be turned off while the account is active.
9. Audit logging
We keep an internal audit log of sensitive actions across the app — event creation, publishing, cancellation, archival, guest invites and removals, item changes, orders, payments, refunds, fulfillment, profile role changes, chat moderation, and contributions. This log supports security, compliance, and dispute resolution.
10. Prohibited use
You may not use the Service for unlawful events, money laundering, fraud, harassment, scraping, reverse engineering, or to circumvent access controls. Owners may not collect contributions for purposes that violate applicable law in their jurisdiction.
11. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Owambeflow is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost data. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid to Owambeflow in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
